Welcome to our Web Site.

We are a group of ex-patients of mainly Southend Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit, though not exclusively, who together with partners and friends meet every second Thursday of the month at the Eastwood Community Center, Western Approaches, Eastwood, Leigh on Sea, Essex.  SS2 6SH

Membership is free and is open to all who are interested. As at July 2009 our membership stands at 718 members, all of whom receive a free copy of our  quarterly magazine which is also sent to all Doctors Surgeries, Clinics and Public Libraries 

At each meeting we have a speaker (rarely medical), usually on subjects of general interest.  We have had speakers talking about subject such as growing up in the Tower Of London to Gardening etc.  It is always an enjoyable evening with a chat among like minded people thrown in. 

We also organize various outings during the year, for example; to France for shopping; to the Olde Tyme Music Hall near City Airport; day trips to Brighton; a trip to the American Airforce Base at Mildenhall among many others.  We are always pleased to receive suggestions of any other places that people would like to visit. 

Also, if anyone knows of interesting speakers do please let us know.

Tea, coffee or a glass of squash together with biscuits are available for which we ask for a donation.  We also have a raffle with several prizes costing £1.00 for 5 tickets, all profit goes towards our funds.
